Product Information
Products are made with Lolcrete®, a proprietary mix of cement and other ingredients which results in a crete blend that is light but still exceptionally strong (note: when we say "light", we mean lighter than conventional concrete mixes, with a better strength-to-weight ratio). This means that all products are lightweight and easy to lift and move, yet are heavy enough to be stable and not prone to easily falling over. This is especially important for the table-top and floor standing ornaments. Products are also cost effective to send via courier, with nationwide deliveries throughout South Africa. The size and weight of each item is listed under the item’s product description.
Certain items are intended for indoor placement only (i.e. on coffee tables, desks, wall units, room dividers, side tables, etc) or for in outdoor areas which are under cover (i.e. in atriums, covered patios, decks and/or verandas). These have been hand painted with high quality artist’s acrylics in a range of bright colours, as well as metallic paints, glow-in-the-dark paint and various shimmer paints (see information under each product for exact details). It is recommended that these artworks are NOT put in the garden or in outdoor areas which aren't covered, as the paints used are not designed to withstand the elements and may chip, peel or fade over time.
Other ornaments are suitable for outdoor placement in either sun or shade and can be exposed to rainfall (outdoor mushroom range coming soon). See details under each item for recommended placement (i.e. indoor or outdoor).
Cleaning: items listed as indoor home ornaments should NOT be submerged in water; simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth when necessary and allow to dry completely. Most outdoor garden ornaments require no cleaning at all, and will slowly and beautifully weather over time (such as having moss or lichen growing on them).

Caps and stems are sculpted in two individual pieces, internally reinforced for additional strength and then joined seamlessly together with our special "grip lock" technology to ensure that, although stems can be thin at their apex, the whole mushroom is very firmly bonded together and will not easily break apart. Mushrooms will only break if dropped from some height onto a hard surface.
Each mushroom requires approximately 2 months from start to its completion, which includes sculpting, drying, 2 curing periods and simple painting (more detailed painting takes more time).
Magical Mushroom individual prices are based on the following:
- Size of the mushroom - generally classified as extra-small (not yet available for sale), small, medium, large and extra-large (not yet available for sale);
- Total time taken to paint each mushroom;
- The use of any additional specialist paints, such as glow-in-the-dark paints, metallic paints, shimmer paints, etc.;
- Degree of detail in the painting of the mushroom;
- Although all mushrooms are unique and no two are exactly the same, some are more unique than others. Unusual mushroom shapes and painted designs that are harder to replicate or are unable to be replicated, will be priced higher.
